Konference i Birmingham om publikumsengagement og -udvikling. “Taking place in October at the fantastic MAC arts centre in one of the UK's most vibrant cities, the Audiences Central team have put together a landmark event that promises to be stimulating, controversial and energising.”

discuss the value of community engagement, looking at examples of best practice from across the UK and Europe?
explore the impact and challenges associated with large-scale audience engagement campaigns?
present the findings of key projects that focused on engaging ‘hard to reach’ audiences?
reveal the best tools for the job
The symposium will include a series of practical case studies, workshops and panel discussions from industry experts, as well as the opportunity to share and develop your own ideas.
Day two will allow delegates the opportunity to experience some of these learnings in practice with on-site visits to leading cultural institutions across the West Midlands. The symposium is aimed at industry specialists including directors, managers, curators, producers, specialists in education, research, strategy, marketing, communications and audience development.
This event is part of Audiences Central’s rolling programme of organisational support and contributes to Audiences Europe Network’s exciting international project, Extending The Margins.
“It is a real treat to be able to listen to our industry influencer under one roof. UK industry leaders and European visitors speaking. It is a valuable opportunity to network with our peers, share triumphs and frustration inherent in our sector. Now more than ever before. We need the support of our peers and so often office work-loads feel unsurmountable to such an extent that a day out of the office just doesn't seem possible.
So you can't leave the office unattended but you can send a representative to JOLT and arrange a debrief lunch the following day for the delegate elect to feedback the experience.
Some of the sessions will be live streamed and featured here on the network, there will be a curated Twitter channel using the tag #acsymp11, pictures will be taken and fed to the network and audio podcasts from me 'on the ground' will be published leading up to the event and throughout the day.
Join the conversation online, what is stopping you from attending?
Best digital regards
Caron (@pcmcreative, @audienceseurope network curator)”

With the major changes happening in the world of cultural development, the sands shift beneath our feet on what feels like a daily basis. JOLT is designed to enable high quality debate around some of the key issues of the day, including engaging with new technology, faith groups, tourism channels, and making the most of large-scale public initiatives.
How DO we engage with our local communities?
Should we be focussing on using volunteers to such an extent?
What will changes in funding and income mean to our commitment to widening access to our cultural offer?
You are invited to join this debate, and discuss with UK and European leaders the challenges we all face in our working lives.
Can you offer any new solutions?
What are the tools you’re using to engage with hard to reach groups?
What DOES the future hold for us all?
