Social marginalization often indicates cultural exclusion. On the other hand the demand for equal participation in culture is one of the central items in up-to-date discussions in the field of cultural policies.
How can cultural policy react?
How can cultural centers achieve integration and participation of as many social classes as possible?
Are there new approaches and methods of activating cultural participation in the context of European socio-culture?
Are there examples in cultural centers of best-practice which are worth to be taken up on an European level?
What is about their operational and financial working conditions?
Who are the new actors and who the new addresses?
What are the practical perspectives and what do estimations for the future look like?
These and other questions will be tackled during the three-day-conference 'Cultural policies and social exclusion' in Dortmund in June.
